Celine & Jad - Luxury Destination Wedding in Greece, Part 2
Two weeks ago I shared a little bit about my work with Jill Ryder of Shindig Bespoke for Celine and Jad's luxury destination wedding in Greece last summer. There were just too many gorgeous photos of the Greek Taverna themed rehearsal dinner to share, so I am dedicating this post to the wedding day itself.
The entire event, including the rehearsal dinner, was designed by the bride, Celine, planned by Cherry on Top, produced by Deplan V, and coordinated by Lauren Drablier. These photos were taken by destination wedding photographers AK3fotographia, and to see more gorgeousness of the over-the-top celebration, take a look at this feature on Brides.com.
Celine and Jad hosted their wedding ceremony in the beautiful remote cove of Agia Paraskevi Beach on Spetses Island. As the sun began to set, their guests embarked on a 30-minute boat ride from Porto Heli, then walked down a wooden runway to enter this stunningly gorgeous ceremony site. Studio 7 created the most decadent and lush floral displays I have ever seen, rich with white roses and peonies. The eucalyptus and pine trees that lined the beach perfumed the air.
Celine’s Versace couture wedding gown was truly a masterpiece. It was convertible to offer three looks throughout the evening. It took 1,100 hours to turn 130 feet of tulle and 30,000 Swarovski crystals into the final creation, which featured a perfectly sculpted bodice, a crystal adorned skirt beneath the tulle, and an embroidered mini dress under that. This meant the bride could transition from ceremony drama to dinner elegance to late night dancing without ever having to change.
Celine is a poet and invited me to created custom hand-lettered quotes and passages from a few of her favorite poets as decoration for the lounge area, bar and dining room. We created banners, pillow cases, hand-lettered mirrors, table runners, and even a hand-lettered Pablo Neruda poem for the wedding cake!
These delicate hand-lettered scrolls adorned each table and were one of my favorite calligraphy elements to contribute. “There is always some madness in love. But there is also always some reason in madness.” - Nietzsche
It was such a pleasure to be involved in this incredible ceremony and to witness the deep and raw love that Celine and Jad have for each other.
