What is a Ketubah?
Traditionally, a ketubah was a Jewish wedding contract created to protect the bride by outlining the groom's financial and relational obligations to her. Today, ketubahs are used by Jewish couples of all sects and have even been adopted by non-Jews as a text and work of art that represents a couple's love and commitment to each other. A contemporary ketubah can have any text or design that is meaningful or significant to the couple. It is signed and displayed at the wedding, then framed and hung in the home as a daily reminder of the promises made to each other on the wedding day.
What is the difference between a giclée print and a hand-painted ketubah?
Our Archival Giclée Prints are created using the highest quality ink jet printers and pigment rich inks to resist fading over time. The pieces are printed on natural white, smooth fine art papers. Each one is numbered and signed in Limited Editions that vary per design.
With our Hand-Painted Originals, your custom text is archivally printed or hand-lettered, and your custom illustration is hand-painted using the artist quality designer gouache paint directly on beautiful Arches 100% cotton rag paper. Each hand-painted piece is entirely unique.
