Dalia & Brett - Intimate Wedding at Gamble Garden in Palo Alto, California

Dalia and Brett’s love story began in the most modern of ways—through a dating app. In early 2021, while navigating their careers in the San Francisco Bay Area, the two matched on Hinge. Despite growing up on opposite coasts—Dalia is a Southern California native and Brett was a recent transplant from the Philly area—they hit it off when they discovered a shared a love for finance podcasts, spreadsheets, and, perhaps most serendipitously, a similar Jewish upbringing. Their first date was an unforgettable 8-hour adventure, and from that moment on, they’ve been inseparable.

When it came time to choose the perfect ketubah, Dalia and Brett were determined to find something that truly represented them. After hours of searching online, they discovered Tallulah Ketubahs and instantly fell in love with Rachel’s watercolor style.

Though they admired several of our existing designs, they were drawn to the idea of a custom piece that would reflect their unique vision. With their wedding date fast approaching, they reached out to Rachel, who immediately impressed them with her clear and thoughtful communication. In a world where wedding planning can often feel overwhelming, Rachel’s organized and professional approach made all the difference. She guided them through the process, offering multiple design variations and remaining open to their feedback. The final piece of art not only became a unique symbol of their union, but also an incredible memento of their wedding day.

On their wedding day, Dalia and Brett infused their celebration with thoughtful personal touches that made the occasion feel intimate and meaningful. Their wedding was intentionally small, with just 40 guests—close friends and family who traveled from across the country to be with them. One particularly special moment was when Brett’s childhood Rabbi flew in from New Jersey to officiate the ceremony. This Rabbi had been a part of Brett’s life for many years, even leading a trip to Israel that Brett had attended in high school. It meant so much to them to have him there, guiding them through such an pivotal moment in their lives.

Another personal touch that added depth to the day was the welcome table, where photos of Dalia and Brett’s grandparents and parents on their wedding days were displayed. As is increasingly common post-2020, Dalia’s grandmother was able to attend the ceremony virtually via Zoom. It was so important to them that everyone who mattered to the couple could be part of the celebration.

The couple envisioned an elegant and intimate celebration in a beautiful outdoor space, but without the right backyard to accommodate their guest list, they began searching for a venue that would bring their vision to life. They ultimately chose the Elizabeth F. Gamble Garden in Palo Alto, a stunning historic estate with a charming lawn that perfectly fit their ceremony. With 2 acres of lush gardens for photos and a cocktail hour, it provided the perfect backdrop for a wedding day filled with joy and love.
