Julianne & Ben - Intimate Wedding at Bok, South Philly, PA

Our lovely couple, Julianne and Ben, are a testament to modern love, having met on a dating app back in 2016. This charming pair are proud Philadelphians and so it was an easy decision to hold their ceremony and reception at the quirky Bok Building in South Philly, a former high school turned event space that resonates with their love for all things uniquely Philadelphia, and features stunning views of the city's iconic skyline.

Their vision for a custom ketubah began to take shape as they embarked on their wedding preparations. Discovering Tallulah Ketubahs through a search for local vendors, their key objective was to work with someone who could craft a centerpiece for their shared Interfaith life. Julianne and Ben desired to have a design centered around the 'Tree of Life', a cross-cultural symbol of life, growth, and multi-generational connections. 

"It was important for us that the person who created our ketubah was local and would collaborate with us through the process. Rachel exceeded our expectations. She created a few different sketches based off of inspiration images we gave to her. From there we selected one and she worked to add key details and confirm texts. It was important to us that our ketubah was centered on the image of the Tree of Life. We selected texts that both honored Jewish traditions important to Ben but also affirmed Julianne’s non-Jewish upbringing. "

For Julianne and Ben, it wasn't just about the human guests that made their wedding day extraordinary; it was the furry, four-legged one that truly stole the spotlight. Their beloved dog, Xavi, played an indispensable role during the ceremony. Adorning a handsome tuxedo, Xavi not only made a dapper appearance in a majority of the wedding photos, but he also had the important task of running the rings down the aisle. This heartwarming and playful touch added a layer of personal sentiment to the day, creating unforgettable moments that the couple and their guests will cherish for a lifetime.
