Laura & Joey - Romantic Wedding in La Quinta Country Club, Palm Springs, CA

Our couple Joey and Laura met in the timeless tradition of… Tinder. This sweet couple tied the knot at the luxurious La Quinta Country Club in beautiful Palm Springs, California. 

Laura and Joey’s early relationship reminds us of a quintessential LA romance you see in the movies. From Tinder dates to casual strolls through the streets of Rodeo and Beverly Blvd, this couple bonded over their many shared commonalities such as living in Israel and love for 90s hip hop. After their third date, Laura shared her desire for Joey to be her boyfriend, maybe even her husband… and here we are today writing their love story. 

The couple’s idea for their custom ketubah came to them after their venue visit to Palm Springs. The backdrop of the desert mountains against the sunset at La Quinta Country Club was so breathtaking, it became a main focal point of their custom ketubah design. Laura found Tallulah Ketubahs through Instagram research by searching hashtags! Her goal was to work with a wedding vendor that would be able to create a centerpiece for the home they are building together – someone who could help reflect their story. 

“Rachel (Founder of Tallulah Ketubahs) made us feel excited about the creative process of developing a custom ketubah. It can be hard to translate your vision into words and your words into art but Rachel made it easy. We knew we wanted to incorporate items that represented each of us as individuals and as a couple. By incorporating Jewish food symbols (Laura loves the symbol of the pomegranate and Joey is a chef) around the hamsah and our wedding venue as the backdrop, we felt like together we created something that truly represents us.”

Featured in Laura and Joey’s custom hamsah ketubah, we incorporated the beautiful desert landscape of their wedding venue, along with a wreath of flowers, figs, and pomegranates. 

The hamsa design featured in this custom ketubah can also be found in our Olive Tree Chinoiserie Hamsah Ketubah, a print ketubah offered all year round. The hamsah design is a traditional Middle Eastern symbol, which is thought to bring health, fertility, and good luck.
