Laura & Joey - Romantic Wedding in La Quinta Country Club, Palm Springs, CA
Laura and Joey's idea for their custom ketubah came to them after their venue visit to Palm Springs. The backdrop of the desert mountains against the sunset at La Quinta Country Club was so breathtaking, it became a main focal point of their custom ketubah design. Laura found Tallulah Ketubahs through Instagram research by searching hashtags! Her goal was to work with a wedding vendor that would be able to create a centerpiece for the home they are building together – someone who could help reflect their story.  Continue reading

Danielle & Jonah - Rustic Boho Wedding in Spring Mills, PA

Danielle & Jonah - Rustic Boho Wedding in Spring Mills, PA

Pandemic or not, Danielle and Jonah did not let our current world affairs prevent them from celebrating their love in style. This down-to-earth couple celebrated their vows on a family member’s rustic farm in Spring Mills, PA, alongside a small group of family and friends.

The ceremony was on a hillside, overlooking a beautiful panorama of goldenrod and fall grasses, followed by a reception below a raised barn on the property. The outdoor space and mother nature’s beauty allowed for the perfect wedding of their dreams while maintaining COVID-19 safety measures while the Delta Variant was at large.

Danielle, the bride, was previously connected with Tallulah Ketubahs in a professional capacity. As a local Philly Judaica artist herself, Danielle, owner of HamsaMade, proudly designed a frame for one of our Butterfly Garden ketubahs in 2018. Since then, she knew Tallulah Ketubahs was a vendor she wanted to collaborate with for her wedding.

Danielle and Jonah chose our Love Birds in the Garden Papercut Ketubah for their wedding. Here’s a direct quote from the bride about why this ketubah was the one.

“We ultimately selected the Lovebirds in the Garden Papercut Ketubah because Jonah translates to dove, which has always been an important symbol in our relationship, and the design featured two of them. We knew we wanted to add Rachel’s (founder) custom watercolor behind the papercut to add an extra layer of customization. We decided on the text after reading several options in The Jewish Wedding Now by Anita Diamant and finding “the perfect text” on Tallulah Ketubah’s website which reflected our spiritual connection. Initially, we felt overwhelmed with all the options we had researched online, and choosing between Tallulah Ketubah’s text options actually helped make our decision so much easier and less stressful.”

But the customization didn’t stop at choosing the perfect ketubah for their intimate wedding. With the pandemic in mind, the couple knew they would compromise on guest count, indoor venues, a huge band, and an extensive vendor list to ensure everyone’s safety. But, here’s how they made up for it with creative details.

“Having planned a wedding in under a year, during a pandemic, we knew compromises needed to be made. But we didn’t need to compromise on any of the creative details that made our day special! There are too many personal details to list, but here are a few:

  • Our family & friends sang us down the aisle while Jonah’s cousin played guitar.
  • Our chuppah was designed and sewed by a family friend to incorporate a quote by Jonah when he proposed and was printed onto the chuppah fabric.
  • The wooden frame of the chuppah structure was made from aspen trees that Jonah, the groomsmen, and our fathers helped cut down the day before the wedding.
  • Our wedding party and parents each shared their own modern interpretation of The Seven Blessings while the Best Man chanted the traditional Hebrew.
  • The evening closed with a bonfire sing-along with show tunes, The Beatles, and lots of Jewish summer camp folk songs were belted into the night.

Danielle and Jonah are trendsetters of this pandemic, showing all future brides how to let their creativity shine during their wedding. Ketubahs are one of the many ways couples can create an element of their love into a physical piece of artwork. We’re so happy Danielle and Jonah were able to find that element with Tallulah Ketubahs, while still adding additional layers of customization through color and written text. We wish them a lifetime of happiness and success and look forward to following their new journey together.
